Is Batista On Steroids or Natural?

When it comes to WWE wrestling few fighters come to your mind almost instantly and Dave Bautista or Batista is one of those. Needless to say that he has had an extremely successful career as a professional wrestler and that he has an extremely ripped physique.

Seeing his size and strength, it is but obvious for people to suspect him of having used steroids. However, Dave has continued to claim that he has been a natural all his life. He is also known to have addressed this issue in a couple of interviews directly.

At the center of these claims lies the fact that he has been treated for numerous injuries with steroids and anabolics. That he might have continued taking these steroids for further gains is anybody’s guess. This is why I have spent considerable time researching his career, injuries, and photos from different stages of his life to get to the bottom of the truth.

Does Batista Take Steroids or Anabolics?

First of all, it is widely known that Batista is known to have said that he took anabolic steroids for medical reasons.

Here’s an explanation for the same…

Back in 2006, he had a freak accident that resulted in a torn tricep. It’s worth noting that at that time, Batista was at the peak of his WWE career.

While some people argue that it was plain bad lucks other tend to emphasize the fact that tricep-related injuries are common because of a significant imbalance in muscle tendons that usually happens because of fast bulking (commonly related to steroid use).

Why Do People Suspect Dave Bautista Of Taking Steroids?

Even though Batista is known to have admitted to taking steroids for medical reasons, let’s see if there is some evidence of him having used PEDs:

Extreme Vascularity

Extreme vascularity with veins popping up all over your body is one of the clear telltale signs of using steroids such as Anavar or Winstrol. So, either you could be training really hard in the gym or taking steroids to get the desired cutting effects.

As far as Dave Batista is concerned, he seemed to have looked extremely vascular in his WWE days as well as during training. However, he did not look as vascular in photographs when he was not completely pumped.

Gynecomastia

Yet another sign of having used anabolic steroids is gynecomastia or man boobs. This is because a high level of testosterone in the body resulting from using anabolic steroids converts readily to estrogen resulting in water retention and the development of man boobs.

If you look closely at Dave’s photographs you won’t notice any growth of extra breast tissue or the appearance of man boobs.

Quick Bulking

Fast bulking is one of the main reasons why most bodybuilders, young and old, take to steroids. What could take years of hard work can be easily achieved with the help of anabolic steroids in a matter of months. No wonder, a lot of bodybuilders not only take one steroid but also stack a couple of them to get even faster gains, risking a lot of side effects in the process.

If you check out Batista’s timeline, you would notice that he grew muscles fast during his teenage years but there is nothing to substantiate that he took steroids for quick muscle gains.

How To Bulk Up Like Batista

When trying to bulk up like someone as huge and massive as Batista, you need to focus on a couple of areas that include – Diet and Supplements, Hard and Rigorous Training.

Let’s delve a bit deeper into each of these to find out more:

Diet & Supplements

One of the most common adages that you must have heard is that Muscles are built in the kitchen and not in the gym.

It holds true since you are what you eat. After all, you are training for just 1-2 hours a day and in the remaining time when you are awake, you need to have at least a couple of meals in order to build muscle faster.

You need enough protein and carbs in your diet. While protein is the fuel that helps build muscle mass, carbs are necessary for energy and stamina. However, you must keep a tab on simple carbs in your diet since it excess of these get stored as fat in your body, which is what you do not want.

You need to play the lean game here!

Moreover, you also require essential minerals and fats in your diet. Essential fatty acids such as Omega 3 are vital for the production of anabolic steroid hormones like testosterone and HGH in your body. Thus, you must also include foods that are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids in your diet. Nuts and beans are a perfect example. Try to have a moderate serving of nuts with your breakfast. Olives, olive oil, oily fish like salmons, etc., are perfect examples of such foods that are rich in such fats.

Apart from this, you also need to consume some supplements and whey protein seems to be on top of the list. If you want to gain lean muscle then you must opt for Whey Protein Isolate since it comes with zero carbs.

Moreover, you may also opt for natural and legal steroid alternatives that have become a massive hit with bodybuilders who want to stay natural and yet be able to bulk up like a pro.

There are certain natural testosterone boosters that may also help pack in more muscle and strength. You may also try having one of such testosterone boosters.

Tough Training

It requires years and years of hard and continuous training if you want to bulk up like a pro like Dave Bautista. Even though it is not something impossible to achieve, you need to have the correct mindset so that you feel motivated enough to train at least 5 days a week for many years.

From my own experience, I can say that once you begin gaining muscle, you start looking forward to going to the gym every day. Even though there are times when you plateau and strive hard to make further gains, nothing can be more satisfying than a good workout. If you are planning to bulk up heavy then you must be spending at least 60-90 minutes per session in the gym.

Was Batista Tested For Having Steroids/Drugs?

batista test

First and foremost, I must remind you that WWE follows a strict policy for testing athletes and it is highly unlikely that Dave would not have been tested.

In other words, Batista must have been checked for steroids a couple of times during his career as a WWE fighter.

Even though Batista is known to have confessed that he took steroids for medical reasons, he is known to have taken them for a short period. Furthermore, his doctors would have likely timed them so that he did not get a positive result.

Verdict – Is Batista on Steroids or is he a Natty?

As it is clear that Dave Bautista took anabolic steroids under the medical supervision of a doctor for recovering from an injury. However, there is no evidence that he took steroids or other anabolic drugs after that.

Thus, I can safely presume that he is someone who has been a natural bodybuilder and that you too can do the same by training hard, taking care of your diet and consuming natural or legal steroid alternatives that are formulated with organic ingredients and do not harm your body in any way whatsoever.
